The actual routing of the network contains a number of factors, they will (but not always) in a variety of ways to produce their own impact. Routing information protocol, open shortest path first, border gateway protocol, enhanced internal gateway routing protocol and static configuration will have an impact on the final routing. In essence, they together constitute a virtual configuration. However, the final "physical" routing can only be verified in one location: routing table. First, whenever the route changes, it will force the router to re calculate the network topology, so the network will be filled with updated data packets. This is not good. Secondly, the routing change detection usually occurs after the problem, so you have to spend time to view each routing node, to discover what happened a few hours ago. Sometimes, routing changes may reduce the flow rate, so the route may be rolled back to the previous poor performance of the route. Sometimes, these changes may cut a link or interrupt key user services.
To solve the routing problem, you need to repeatedly check the status table via the command line interface, and you always need to walk back and forth on each rack. You may even need to connect several devices to the console to track routing. However, these methods may still be unable to solve the real challenges of routing. Routing often seems to be a problem, and the most effective way to find the source of the problem is to get the wrong information in real time. |
